Demystifying Home Recording

Home Recording Guru was conceived as a place for people of all walks of life to come and learn more about recording in your home studio. Our goal was, and remains, to provide the user with solid, current and easy to understand tutorials and articles relative to keeping and maintaining a home recording studio, whether they're just beginning or seasoned pros.

The chief 'Guru' for HRG is Peter "Ren" Renfree, a recording engineer, producer and artist with decades of experience reaching back into the early 1980's. "Ren" is an artist/songwriter and also operates his own home studio/production company "Sound Catcher Studio" in Nashville, TN.
